Here in Karratha, we are lucky to live on the land of the Ngarluma and Yinibarndi people. We form part of the Pilbara where there are over 700 Indigenous archaeological sites, home to over 1million rock engravings, some as old as 30,000 years.

It is a land of extremes, from majestic soft island sand, in the Dampier archipelago and mackerel islands, to the red and rugged trails at Karrijini.

Our peak tourist season runs between April and October when the weather is at its finest.

Low tide can bring sandflies, so make sure you wear your insect repellent and/or get a Thermocell. We sell both. The flies can be pesky in summer, who am I kidding they’ll drive the calmest of us insane. So come in and get a mozzie net for your hat, or a hat with built in fly protection.
