Marine Guide

The Dampier Archipelago is a chain of 42 coastal islands, islets, and rocks, to get there you’ll need to launch a boat from one of the public boat ramps located at Dampier, Karratha Back Beach, Johns Creek, Point Samson and Cossack. There are no facilities on the islands, so make sure you take everything you need. Leave no trace.

Make sure you’ve got all your paperwork in line, check-in with the department of transport and the fisheries so make sure you know the current guidelines

To fish on a boat, you need a license.

Sounders

Sounders are one of the most important things on any boat. Generally, for creek fishing, you want a sounder that is compatible with side scan and down scan technologies. For Bluewater you generally want a sounder with good chirp capabilities with a high-powered transducer to help you sound ground at speed while moving spots and for picking up the smallest lumps while sounding in anywhere up to 60M
